Never make a promise
you can't keep.
Never tell someone something
that you're not sure you can do.
What's the point
in telling them if you can't?
I was talking to a friend
one day, and he said
"I care about you, let's stay friends
even if nothing happens between us."
He always made so many promises.
He always said so many things
he hoped for between us,
but why? It's a shame
that he said he'd never change
because things just aren't the same.
When you don't keep promises,
it only hurts people.
Some people have questioned my issue
with promises? But I just see no point
in making them unless
the other person is committed
to keeping it. So,
save your breath. Don't
promise me anything. Don't
talk about our future
then cut me out of yours. Don't
express your feelings
if there's no follow-through. Don't
say all these heartfelt things
then break my heart. Don't
say things between us will
never change, then leave.
